The Hampton Fire Department Supervisory Association Local 3017 proudly sponsored a Cal Ripken AA Baseball Team for the 2007 season. The team name is the Akron Aeros and consisted of dedicated nine and ten year olds from Hampton and the surrounding communities. The young players had a very successful year winning the AA Championship.
The playoff format was a double elimination, 2 pitch tournament. There were 9 teams in the AA league. The Aeros won 4 straight games to win the Championship. The final score of the last game was 5 - 0. Each game lasts 3 innings, 2 strikes & you're out. The coaches pitched all the playoff games.

The Hampton Youth Association Cal Ripkin AA Division Baseball Team, the Akron Aeros, recently celebrated their championship with the Hampton Fire Department Supervisory Association Local 3017 IAFF.
Hampton Fire Supervisors from Local 3017 IAFF hosted the championship team of 9, 10 and 11 year old players, along with parents and siblings of the players to an award celebration and cookout at the Winnacunnet Road Fire Station 2 in Hampton.
Justin Cutting, President of the Hampton Fire Department Supervisory Association, Local 3017 IAFF congratulated the players, "We are thrilled to have sponsored you and are proud to celebrate the accomplishments of your team.”
The championship team was directed by volunteer coach Mike Lewis, and assisted by Ed Nasser, Ken Snider and Tom Pierce. Coach Lewis presented each player with an Akron Aeros baseball to accompany their first place trophy. Coach Lewis complimented the players stating, “Kids, if you take anything away from this victory, remember it’s about teamwork and you really came together as a team.”
Congratualtions to the Aeros and their coaches for a great season !!!
